About ARLIO

ARLIO is the creative brand of Alannah Dessauvages, a Designer Maker based in East Sussex whose work is inspired by plant life, gardening, and the natural world.

Working across both ceramics and freehand machine embroidery, Alannah creates handmade pieces that celebrate the beauty of nature through both functional and decorative design. Her ceramic work includes flower frogs, plant pots, and plant labels, while her embroidered botanical pieces capture the character and detail of flowers and foliage through intricate stitched forms.

Each piece is designed and made by hand in small batches, reflecting a thoughtful approach to craftsmanship, materiality, and everyday use. Rooted in a love of plants and making, ARLIO offers objects that bring a quiet connection to nature into homes and gardens.

Alannah graduated from the University of Brighton with a First Class BA (Hons) in Designer/Maker and was the recipient of the Ethel Loves Me Featured Maker Award in 2025.

ARLIO was established during her second year at university (2023) while working on a batch production assignment.
